If you are looking to move to Jupiter, Florida with a family, you’re going to hear a lot of opinions about “the best neighborhoods.”
Want the truth? There isn’t a perfect answer.
What works for one family might not work for another. Some neighborhoods are more social and active, while others are quieter and more spread out.
The key is understanding how you actually want to live day-to-day, not just what looks good online.
Below are a few neighborhoods in Jupiter that tend to be strong options for families, along with the real pros, and a few things to think about before deciding.

The Heights is one of the more well-known non-HOA neighborhoods in Jupiter and that alone makes it stand out.
Why families like it:
No HOA (flexibility with your home)
More space compared to planned communities
Generally more affordable than some nearby areas
Close to schools, parks, and Alton/Abacoa
What to consider:
Less “polished” than HOA communities
Homes vary in updates and condition
Not as walkable as places like Abacoa
The Connect Group Opinion? If you want flexibility and a little more breathing room without paying a premium for a master-planned community, this can be a great option. (We are also a little biased toward this one, since Sarah Thomson, our team lead and founder, lives here with her family and LOVES IT!)
Whispering Trails is almost the opposite of Abacoa in a lot of ways. It’s known for larger lots, mature landscaping, and a quieter feel.
Why families like it:
More space and privacy
Larger homes and lots
Peaceful, less dense environment
What to consider:
Not walkable
You’ll be driving for most things
Higher price points depending on the property
The Connect Group Opinion? This is a good fit for families who want space, quiet, and a more traditional neighborhood feel, not constant activity.

The Shores is a well-established community with a strong reputation locally. It’s one of those neighborhoods that doesn’t always get a ton of attention online, but people who live there tend to stay. The community has oak lined streets, yards that back up to either a lake or nature preserve view, and two parks to enjoy.
Why families like it:
Quiet, residential feel
Sidewalks and areas for walking/biking
Good balance between space and structure
More consistency than non-HOA areas
What to consider:
HOA (rules + fees)
Less “new” compared to newer developments
Not as social or event-driven as some communities
The Connect Group Opinion? This is a solid, stable neighborhood, especially for families who want something predictable, quiet, and well-kept.
Eagle’s Nest is a smaller, more private community with larger homes and a higher price point. With 64 acres and only 96 homes, it’s not as widely talked about, but it’s definitely an option for certain buyers. Known as a boating community featuring a private dock and boat launch area.
Why families like it:
Larger homes and lot sizes
More privacy
Varying architecture
What to consider:
Higher price point
Smaller community (less “neighborhood activity”)
Not ideal if you’re looking for walkability or a social scene
The Connect Group opinion? This is more about space and privacy than community energy. It works well for the right family, but not everyone is looking for that.
Jupiter Farms, located west of I-95 and the Turnpike, is still close to the coast but allows you to have a more laidback lifestyle in an area that feels more rural. Known for its safety, equestrian trails, and sense of community, this is where you go if you want space, privacy, and fewer restrictions.
Why families like it:
Large lots (between 1+ and 10+ acres)
No HOA
Room for:
RVs
Boats
Animals (with a strong equestrian community)
More privacy and separation from neighbors
What to consider:
Not a typical “neighborhood” feel
Dirt roads in many areas
You’ll be driving everywhere
Properties vary a lot (condition, upkeep, etc.)
Most homes use well water and septic systems rather than city water
Honest take:
This is a great fit for families who want freedom and space, not structure.
But it’s not for everyone.
If you’re used to:
sidewalks
close neighbors
walkability
a polished HOA look
This can defintly feel like a big adjustment.
🧠 So… What’s Actually the “Best” Neighborhood?
There isn’t one.
The better question is:
What kind of lifestyle do you want?
Walkability and activity? → Look toward areas like Abacoa
No HOA and flexibility? → The Heights
Space and quiet? → Whispering Trails
Something more balanced and established? → The Shores
Full freedom and space? → Jupiter Farms
